Serena visits Alola for a vacation, hoping to relax and explore a new region. There, she meets Gladion — a mysterious and serious trainer who seems emotionally distant. At first, Serena finds him intimidating, but over time, she notices the gentle way he interacts with Pokémon and eventually with her. Their bond grows after a joint rescue mission, and when Serena decides to visit someone in Kanto, Gladion volunteers to accompany her, understanding the weight of her feelings. Along the way, Magearna unexpectedly joins their journey. As they travel together, Serena starts to see a warmer side of Gladion, and he begins developing feelings for her — only to silently push them aside after discovering Serena’s heart still belongs to Ash. The episode ends as they arrive in Kalos, with the emotional undercurrents deepening.

Dear diary…
I never thought a vacation would change the way I saw the world… or someone else. Alola was supposed to be sunshine, beaches, and palm trees — not battles, not feelings, not… him.
But then I met someone who challenged the way I thought. He was serious… distant… like the clouds hiding the sun. And yet, somehow, I found the light behind them.
This is the story of how one journey led to another. A journey across regions — and maybe, into the heart.
The story unfolds.
INT. ALOLA AIRPORT – DAY
Serena steps off the plane with bright eyes, wearing a sunhat. Sylveon walks beside her. She takes in the tropical air, excited.
Wow… Alola is even more beautiful than I imagined!
She spins joyfully. Sylveon chirps happily.
EXT. ALOLA BEACHFRONT – LATER
Serena strolls along the beach when she sees a serious-looking boy training with a SILVALLY. He moves with sharp focus.
He looks… intense.
He notices her watching and nods slightly.
Are you lost?
Oh! No — just admiring your battle. You and Silvally… you work so well together.
Thanks.
He turns back. Serena frowns slightly.
Why is he so serious?
EXT. ALOLA POKÉMON CENTER – NEXT DAY
Serena and Gladion cross paths again. A minor crisis is happening — a small Rockruff is trapped under debris from a storm.
Pancham, help lift it! Sylveon, calm it down!
Gladion joins without a word, commanding Lycanroc and Umbreon with precision. They save the Rockruff.
We did it…!
(beat)
You’re… really gentle with Pokémon, huh?
They trust me. So I give them the same trust back.
Serena smiles for the first time at him.
INT. POKÉMON CENTER – NIGHT
They rest. Serena watches as Gladion pets Umbreon quietly.
Maybe he’s not as cold as he looks…
EXT. ALTERNATE ROUTE – DAYS LATER
They’re now traveling together. Magearna appears from nearby brush, clearly wanting to join.
Magearna…? You want to come with us?
She looks at Gladion, who studies the mythical Pokémon silently.
If she wants to come, let her. She must have her reasons.
EXT. CAMPSITE – NIGHT
They sit by a campfire. Serena brushes her Pokémon. Gladion watches Sylveon and Umbreon curled up together.
Your Sylveon… she’s calm. Even Umbreon trusts her.
They like you too, you know. Especially Sylveon. She keeps sneaking over to your side.
I noticed.
Their eyes meet. A moment of silence — not awkward, but comfortable.
MONTAGE: JOURNEY THROUGH VARIOUS ROUTES

INT. FOREST CLEARING – NIGHT
Magearna emits a soft glow. A hologram-like memory projects — a faint image of Ash at the airport. Serena kissing him before leaving for Hoenn. Gladion sees it.
So that’s why you’re going to Kanto…You still love him.
He stares into the fire, then closes his eyes.
I know what I have to do for her.I won’t get in the way.Her happiness… that’s all that matters.
He opens his eyes, steeled with resolve.
EXT. ROUTE – NEXT MORNING
Gladion? You okay?
I’ll take you to Pallet Town. Someone should make sure you get there safe.
Thank you… really.
EXT. HILLS OVERLOOKING KALOS – SUNSET
They finally reach Kalos’ border, the Kalos region shining under a sunset.
Serena looks out at it, then at Gladion, who walks just a step behind her, silently protective.
The journey continues.
Dear diary…
I came to Alola for a vacation, but I found something much more. I found a friend. A partner.
Someone who doesn’t speak much — but who says so much with his actions. Someone who chose my happiness over his own.
I still don’t know what’s waiting for me in Pallet Town… but I do know one thing.
I’m glad I’m not alone on this journey.
Because now…I’m traveling across regions. With someone who understands.
